Why this webpage?

Not only the times of university but the whole career of responsible physicians is characterized by constant study with and about the subject. There are now plenty of good medical textbooks and in times of Wikipedia and other services the internet can also be used more and more as a reliable source of information. Unfortunately the major part of the information is hardly accessable without having to pay or authenticating yourself as a physician. Furthermore many information is very specific or due to its dedication to non-physicians or for other reasons little suitable for the needs of the medical students who wants to learn about the basics.

The concern of this blog is to prepare the knowledge of medical textbooks in handy units, which in the first place should be suitable for learning and repeating. Our focus lies on medical students, althought we do not rule out the possibility that approbated physicians may as well profit from the informations. Surely the specialist a little likely to find anything new to him in his or hers special field, but maybe this page can help him to brush up on basics of other fields.

Patients and other people who have an interest in medical basics are of course also welcome, though we like to point out that most of our texts have a rather high frequency of technical terms and thus may not be understandably for everyone. In case of doubt we would like to refer to Wikipedia which now features a large number of articles concerning medical issues.

To facilitate the learning process we decided to make the maximum possible of the information accessible in audible form, to enable the student or physician to study in a more practical way.

The textual emphasis firstly lies on the discussion of separate diseases while in the future we will also be dealing with more basic topics, concerning the first years of medical school.

Enjoy your learning!
